October 2020
Dear Friends,
As we move into the last few months of this year, I feel
compelled to look at the hard work and progress that
continues to be seen throughout Sheridan County. In the
past nine months, many committed individuals and
organizations have worked to move forward with projects
that will benefit our community for years to come. The
Sheridan Community Land Trust has come close to
completing the Kicking Horse and Link trails in adding to
the Soldier Ridge Trail System. The HUB has been able to
continue to fundraise and apply for grants to improve
services for seniors in our community. The Chamber of
Commerce successfully hosted their annual Ignite
Conference in accordance with public health guidelines.
Here at Whitney Benefits, we have also been busy behind the scenes completing the Pavilion at Whitney Commons;
adding a sidewalk to link Whitney Commons to the YMCA; and beginning the construction of a memorial for Jim Shassetz,
a beloved community member who passed away in 2018. We continue to support Sheridan College as they weather the
impact of the changing economic climate and seek to continue providing excellent educational opportunities. In addition,
we continue to offer interest-free loans to provide a way for community members to advance their own education.
The past few months have been a trying time for all, but looking at the good that has come out of our community despite
setbacks is encouraging. I ask you to be inspired along with me and embrace the tail end of 2020 with hope of what is to
come.
With Whitney Regards,
Patrick Henderson
